Bead Basting

This process is used to clean a component, or prior to applying a decorative finish. Bead Basting is particularly suitable for producing a good key for painting. Bead Basting also has an important value in producing a mechanically advantageous effect on aluminium alloys which are subject to stress or fatigue, it hardens the metal surface whilst preventing the spread of cracks. The material used will affect the colour of finish. Bead Basting produces a chemically clean surface, so that further cleaning is not generally required before anodising.


Masking
This can be carried out to customer specification using specialized adhesive tapes and plugs, allowing areas to remain conductive i.e. earthing.
